Facilities
"...... I was so impressed by the way you made us feel so comfortable at every stage of the day...I'm still missing those wonderful salads at lunchtime and the delicious nibbles that accompanied every beverage. Also I was very pleased with the accommodation at Montplaisir.

There is plenty for the non-painting partners or friends - the house is within half an hour from  TOULOUSE, CASTRES and the market towns of REVEL and LAVAUR. And  within an hour from  LAUTREC,GAILLAC, ALBI, CORDES, CARCASSONNE.
There is plenty of WALKING in the immediate area and in the mountains. There are three GOLF COURSES within half an hour and TENNIS and RIDING nearby. We have a SWIMMING POOL and plenty of places for everyone to paint/read/sleep/sunbathe without disturbance and even indulge in a MASSAGE with our local masseuse and not forgetting the delicious gourmet French cooking provided by our local chef Yannick Hervouet.

Andrew Curtis July 25th - 2nd August 2009

We are very pleased to welcome Andrew back. He exhibited his paintings with us at The Merriscourt Gallery and for the four years  that we ran courses there he was a very popular teacher.

The course will introduce various ways to approach painting using landscape as a subject matter.
Andrew will work with each individual to help develop a more personal style of representation. Tuition will cover both the traditional landscape techniques and also suggest ways of approaching landscape using abstract painting techniques.
Topics include: finding suitable motifs, composition, conventions of perspective, use of colour and paint application.
Andrew will also be working on his own paintings, this will give the opportunity to see some of the subjects discussed put into practice.
