Facilities
"...... I was so impressed by the way you made us feel so comfortable at every stage of the day...I'm still missing those wonderful salads at lunchtime and the delicious nibbles that accompanied every beverage. Also I was very pleased with the accommodation at Montplaisir.

There is plenty for the non-painting partners or friends - the house is within half an hour from  TOULOUSE, CASTRES and the market towns of REVEL and LAVAUR. And  within an hour from  LAUTREC,GAILLAC, ALBI, CORDES, CARCASSONNE.
There is plenty of WALKING in the immediate area and in the mountains. There are three GOLF COURSES within half an hour and TENNIS and RIDING nearby. We have a SWIMMING POOL and plenty of places for everyone to paint/read/sleep/sunbathe without disturbance and even indulge in a MASSAGE with our local masseuse and not forgetting the delicious gourmet French cooking provided by our local chef Yannick Hervouet.

Tony Rothon June 28 - 6 July

Tony Rothon is a very popular, sensitive and experienced teacher and painter.
"The attitude which I teach follows my own practice. I try to make a distinction
between painting from life/landscape as a  copying activity, and painting as the challenging business of making sensible
painted equivalents for the world. "Same thing, aren't they?" people say, and I say that they are not. The canvas is flat, the world 3-dimensional. This essential difference brings into play the use of 'language' in the attempt to bridge between the two..."
Tony studied at The Slade 1967 - 71 and was a post graduate there from 1971 - 73, he was awarded the Spanish Government Scholarship 1973 -4
He has taught for various London Art Schools including The Byam Shaw, Wimbledon and Heatherleys,
and is teaching to present date (until Christmas 2009) for University of the Arts and
Kensington and Chelsea College. Also private classes held at Heythrop College,
Kensington Square.

He has had 4 one-person exhibitions since 2002 at Jonathan Ross's Gallery 286, London
and in group exhibitions including: RA Summer Exhibition, Royal Society of Portrait Painters, "The Discerning Eye
